Role of Grey Bruce Health Unit
Grey Bruce Health Unit supports the coordination of services as outlined in the Community Response Protocol. The role of Grey Bruce Health Unit continues to be supporting those most vulnerable to Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence through a coordinated approach to identification, referral and follow-up.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit provides:
Sexual health services to Grey Bruce residents without regular access to a health care provider,
Services include sexually transmitted infections testing and treatment, pregnancy counselling and referral, low cost contraception, gender identity, vaccines, etc.Harm reduction services including provision of sterile needles and injection drug supplies, sterile meth supplies, sharps containers and disposal and free naloxone. Harm reduction exchanges are conducted in a safe, confidential space,
Screening for client’s at risk of human trafficking /experiencing human trafficking in a confidential, safe space with referrals as client needs indicate,
Referrals to services as appropriate for client needs if clients self-identify as being at risk of human trafficking or experiencing human trafficking.
