Sexual Assault and Partner Abuse Care Centre at Brightshores Health System
A team of Nurses and Social Workers with special training to provide care for women, men and children who are victims of sexual assault, historic child sexual abuse or domestic violence.
We can help with: emotional support, assessment and documentation of injury, treatment to prevent sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy, collection of evidence (with or without police involvement), safety planning, information and referrals to community resources, follow-up care and counseling.
How to access our care:
If you require immediate medical care or if the assault happened within the past 7 days, go to your nearest hospital emergency department
If the assault happened more than 7 days ago and you do not require immediate medical care, please call our office to arrange an appointment
